Nice video, but depressing for me. I've watched a lot of videos of NL and read up on travel. Set up a plan to visit, where to go and on which days. Well over a month before we were set to go, all ferries had full cabins and FULL DECKS. No way I'm paying an extra $2G to fly in and rent a vehicle for 8 days. I just wish I knew about booking difficulties sooner.
Yvonnel... ❤❤❤
Id love to ask about Baenre rebirth and just complement him on bringing her back... freakin fantastic... she is my new favorite Hero... thank you, Bob... you are a gift that keeps on giving...❤❤❤
Thank you for visiting!, btw it's pronounced "New, Found, Land". I know seems small but Newfinland/Newfinlend is not a real place, everyone from Fox news says the name wrong. Great video hope you enjoyed your stay, my accent I say lots of stuff wrong so no hate haha.
I’m taking this ferry this summer. Question for you or anyone who’s been on this ferry. Is the ticket including the cabin to rest on or is it extra vs sitting/sleeping in your vehicle?
There are different types of tickets. We had a cabin (as seen in the video) going TO Newfoundland, but on the return trip, we just had seats. Obviously, cabins are more expensive. Have fun!
Just reread your comment. Staying in your vehicle is NOT allowed.
Perfect! Thank you so much for taking us along and answered my questions :) have fun exploring mate 👍🏻
@@theroarbotswhy can’t you sleep in your vehicle

Good morning

Newfoundland AND LABRADOR for those who don’t know
He wasn’t going to Labrador. He was going to Newfoundland. My opinion, Labrador isn’t part of NL, it’s on the mainland and should have been its own province.
can someone explain the phenomenon where it's so common for people to totally fuck up videos with unnecessary music? music is to enhance otherwise sound-free things like timelapses, not as a replacement for realtime audio.
turned the crap off just like all Rap.
Hey I liked the music
Thank you for posting this story I hadn't viewed since illustrating it 45 years ago. Dennis Stuart
The boss thats in this video is actually my grandfathers Cousin, Frankie! He's been workin' the Ferry Line...Lines? for around 45 years now!
The music absolutely ruined this video! Did an adult review this video prior to release???
Yes I revised it
how many hours was the ferry ?
Very nice, crossed once in a big rig on a trip to St John’s, brought back memories, love it up there in Newfoundland!
The ferry ride was awful. Waters were calm, crew was polite but of course covid ruined everything!
I have a photo under this sign last 2018 and 2019..Newfoundland and Labrador province has beautiful, scenic places like what you have seen in movies.
I never saw that short version of that commercial during my childhood days.
Me neither
$230 round trip in a small car , plus a cabin for 2 for $120 plus at least one meal each way , another $50, so, say around $400 , or the price of a budget flight from New York to Paris , ...I'll take Paris over Moosequitos ..LOL
You’re comparing air to water. Post the cost to go to Paris via Ferry.
They should pay you $230 to go there , LOL
Way better than BC ferries
after travelling on ferrys in 3 diff countrys. conclusion ? done one youve done them all i used swedish to finland along with new zealand inter islands and australian lines to Tasm ania.
Another great upload. Thanks for this!
Thanks that was great video, we are travelling there next summer. Never thought it was going to look like a cruise ship, loved your kids! Was it extra for the room?
My sister and mother made this trip 6 years ago. I was jealous then and now even more so.

Re: the matter of Eilistraee being the reason for good drow, that's not the case, and making that argument honestly makes it look like no one has even bothered to give a passing read to her lore. Talking about redemption for the drow is not very precise, because most drow have nothing to redeem for. The commoners are just victims of abuse, and victims of abuse shouldn't be denied help because "heal yourself". In fact, Eilistraee's message to the drow isn't "repent, hurr durr" but a message of healing and hope. Eilistraee is an empowerer kind of deity. Like, one of her main points is that she works to empower the drow to find their path, while being careful to never force a choice on them. This is among the first things about her that you read in Demhiuman Deities, in the overview of the Dark Seldarine. She offers aid and warmth to the all drow, she lets them know that an alternative exists, and provides a home to those who reject Lolth. She doesn't magically brainwash people into being good. The lore is quite explicit about this (I'll paste the FR Wiki section about this below, quoted between commas). Also, many people frame things in terms of deities coming down and grabbing drow, or forcing things on drow, but never in terms of drow choosing a deity. Following Eilistraee, for a drow, is motivated by "I follow Eilistraee because she embodies what I believe in" (a drow artist could follow her just for her patronage of artists, for example) or by more personal reasons related to personal stories; depends on the individual. In the ancient times of FR history, when the first instance of her culture appeared, it wasn't Eilistraee to go around converting people, it was people founding a nation based on ideals associated with her. Eilistraee acted as an empowerer and patroness for that. Eilistraee's culture is inspired to her teachings, but it's not about worshipping her. It isn't motivated by "I do this because I follow her", but by "I do this, because I believe it's the right thing to do/it's what leads to happines/etc..."; Eilistraee acts as an empowerer in this sense. In fact, as I said, she's very strong on helping her people find their own way, and not force a choice on them (as long as they're not hurting others). --------------------------- Here's the lore from the wiki: "Eilistraee taught her children kindness and love, showed them the freedom and joy of life that they were denied, and all around cared after them. Even though she couldn't promise safety,[11] she strove to protect and help them strengthen, grow, and flourish in a surface world that had become hostile to them, but that was their rightful home. She aided them in hunting, swordcraft, and other practical matters of their everyday lives, in immediately useful ways.[2][4][22] Eilistraee's help could come in the form of direct action-and she was not unwilling to retaliate in protection of her followers, if the situation called for it[26][1][15]-but she far preferred her assistance to not be intrusive, or even openly revealing of her involvement. In fact, it wasn't Eilistraee's way to intrude in her people's lives, because she felt that a forceful interference would prevent them from making their own choices. On the contrary, she strove to empower each drow to find their own path in the world,[25] and did so by watching over them in their "journey", and by offering them the tools to travel it themselves and overcome its challenges-both large and daunting, and the smaller ones posed by daily life. For example, she could subtly lead a drow braving the surface to a community of her followers to find a sense of belonging, support, or even a home.[27][28] Her hunting horn sounded to hearten her faithful and scare away dangerous creatures which threatened them. Her song,[26] or her silvery radiance and silvery moths,[2][4] guided drow who were lost in the darkness or in the Underdark to a safe place, or yet lightened childbirths that occurred in the dark,[2][4] and hers was the force that brought a stag within the reach of hungry drow.[22] Likewise, Eilistraee intervened when her people needed visible confort or emotional help. She could make them know that they were not alone, and that someone was watching over them, when they felt lost (usually through her own light,[2][4][22] or as a protecting, shadowy, tall female dark elf that danced with the drow).[29][29] She could provide them with insight and inspiration to reach an important goal,[30] or even lend her magic, if needed, to break any shackle preventing them from freely embracing the path they wanted to walk, or so that they didn't have to give themselves to Lolth in exchange for help when they felt overwhelmed (an example was the situation that saw her helping Liriel Baenre to heal her companion, Fyodor, from a fatal wound).[31] Furthermore, in the daily ritual known as the Evensong, Eilistraee would "listen" to the (usually) wordless messages of her followers as they let out the emotions, experiences, and reflections gathered during the day.[4] The Dark Maiden sang her call to all dark elves-from the highest matron mother to the lowest male slave-sending them dreams or visions, showing them a different, better life, and the beauty of the world (especially when they were close to the surface).[11] Lolth was powerless to stop these visions, as too much interference from two goddesses could easily bring a mortal's mind to insanity,[32] and despite her continued efforts to suppress any knowledge of her daughter,[11] the drow definitely came to "feel" the Dark Dancer at some point in their lives, with varying reactions. While many would either not understand their dreams and emotions, or chose to ignore, disbelieve, or reject them, many others secretly yearned for the goddess and all that she wished for them. In fact, it was not unusual for them-if they thought they could get away with it, without the knowledge of a priestess of Lolth-to choose to spare the life of a worshiper of Eilistraee, decline to tell other drow what they'd seen of their activities, or linger to watch one of their dances rather than breaking it up. That said, despite those feelings, not many drow could find the strength and resources to make the final step and leave their past behind to cleave to Eilistraee on their own.[32][11] Furthermore, the Dark Maiden's efforts were opposed by the power of Lolth and the other evil drow gods, and what she could do was very limited.[25]" Elaine Cunningham shows this very well in her work, in the relationship between Liriel and Eilistraee. That's even more proof that Eilistraee doesn't go around with magic wands that make people good, but works her ass off in making sure that people have the possibility to choose their own path, that they can find happiness, that they have someone there for them in times of need.
Salvatore does not understand Paganism. Look up this video Pagan Studies Researcher REACTS TO BuzzFeedVideo's We Practiced Magic with a Real Witch. It is on RUclips. Angela has a PhD in religious studies with a focus on contemporary paganism.
So, you're correcting the guy who invented Menzo? Really? He's the prime DM of the underdark... all roads lead to Bob... get over it...
@@teedepefanio4974 Salvatore didn't create Eilistraee (the subject of my post and of his error), or Lolth or any of the drow gods (or the drow themselves for that matter--Gygax created them and theier zealot matriarchal culture, and Greenwood created the cultures for the other drow deities). Bob's no authority on the matter of drow deities, because he isn't the one wo worked on them. And he isn't the creator of the Underdark either--the vast majority of lore about the Underdark and its denizens iwasn't created by him. But let's pretend for a moment that Salvatore actually was an authority on the subject (I repeat, he's not, but let's play along). Your reply would then probably be the most bizarre argumentum ab autorictate I've ever come me cross. Would you suddenly agree that sticking your fingers in a power outlet is 100% safe, if James Maxwell, the guy who pioneered classical Electrodynamics as we know it, told you so? I doubt that. The situation with Bob and Eilistraee is the same. The lore about Eilistraee is objectively defined, it exists out there in many sourcebooks penned by her creator, where it can be verified. It's something objective that can't be argued (much like getting electrocuted upon sticking your fingers in a power outlet), and what Salvatore said grossly contradicted what has been in those books for decades. So, even if he actually was the creator of Eilistraee (again, he isn't), he'd still be wrong. Even if Greenwood said what Bob said, he'd be wrong. It's irrelevant what Bob wrote: the truth is the truth, and he was speaking bullshit like I detailed in my comment.
First time I ever heard him curse, about 27 min in. He’s hinted many times at having it in him but he never really has the opportunity, until this I guess :-)
is it worth taking the ferry from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland if you want to drive because me and my mom are plaing a trip and we would like to know
If you want to drive your own car, there's no other way. But if you're asking if it's worth going to Newfoundland, then YES.
Excellent video!!🇮🇪👍
Thanks for sharing. On our list with our new Airstream.
Idk why I’m watching this, I live in California US. But now I want to do this....
That's INCLINING, not reclining
Too long, why are you using a 1:1 shooting ratio?
It's not worth going across, Look around Cape B is much better..
We did both. But Gros Morne NP is absolutely worth the journey by itself.
Cape Breton is nice but Newfoundland is beautiful.
Love the video! Your family is very natural and likeable as well. Good Job. I am hoping to do the same ferry when all of the covid stuff is finally over. Was there any problems with sea sickness? Did u notice much movement / rocking on the ferry?
None at all. It's a big boat, so you hardly feel movement at all. Enjoy! It's a great trip.
